Giddyup - rocking stool
The use of old, tired or broken saddles is an attempt to not only utilize an existing object, but also to elevate peoples perception of the old and pre-used. In this piece the designer has
combined the qualities of the saddle with the idea of 'an active sitting' experience for the user.
"I often find myself wondering about the possible stories that are imbued in the saddle. The scuffs, scratches and wear marks of the saddle speak of its histoy and its previous life.

Features
- The leather saddle is pre used. Saddles that are old and tired - while becoming more comfortable for the rider, can cause damage to the horse. Predominantly the saddles used in the Giddyup's have little value for riding but still have a long life ahead of them as Giddyup's.
- The rocking base is made from the highest quality FSC certified Marine Grade Gaboon plywood.
- The plywood has been CNC cut. This allows the parts to be nested tightly together when cutting to minimise waste.
- The Giddyup timber bases are finished with non-toxic citrus based oil. This allows them to be easily refinished and revitalised.
